Where she came from
The Kagon tribe of The Azim Steppe's is a tribe of nocturnal Xaela who Nhaama, goddess of the Moon forbade to bask within the Sun's light, for Azim god of the Sun was her sworn enemy. By this decree did the people of Kagon hide away during the day so they would not succumb to the evil of Azim, only emerging during the night to hunt and migrate. Due to their fear of the sun the Kagon people have skin much more pale and fair when compared to the other tribes and their eyesight also suffered as over generations they'd adjusted to seeing better in the dark.It was here that Yura was born and raised with her three sisters, Kara the oldest, Nika the second child, and Uba the youngest, and their mother Tolba. Men were quite scarce amongst the Kagon for men were sons of Azim and could not be trusted, those born into the tribe were the only allowed to live there. Tolba never spoke much to Yura about her father, all she knew was he was not a man of Kagon and it was left at that.Life on the Steppe's for the Kagon people was that of isolation, never interacting with outsiders they lived entirely in devotion Nhaama and her war against Azim, though this never did sit right with Yura. She always had a quiet longing for adventure within her soul, she wanted to go places and see well... Everything! It was not until she met others like her that she'd learn she wasn't alone in this. But within Kagon those thoughts were outcast, not normal. Until one fateful day when Yura's worldviews came crashing down around her.You see, the leader of Kagon Priestess Nagu Hagane belonging's were strictly off limits, she kept the secrets that Nhaama whispered to herself, her oracle if you will. One fateful day Yura noticed that Nagu had forgotten her journal out in the open after a ceremony. She took it to at first return it, but it didn't take long for her mischievous curiosity to get the better of her and she read what she was not supposed to. That text revealed the truth of the Kagon, their role as keepers of old tradition and detailing how the current tribes live and what they believe. Nhaama and Azim were forelorned lovers, destined apart by fate, surprising still was that their followers would join in hand in their stead?! Yura could not believe what she read and she knew no one else would.With the truth revealed to her Yura knew what she had to do next, and that was to run. She was awakened to the truth and could never go back to living under lies, the desires she kept to herself hidden away for so long would no longer be restrained. She would leave the Steppe's and never look back!
Where she is now
Today Yura is happily an amateur adventurer, doing odd jobs here and there for those in need! Lucky enough for her she's made afew adventuring friends along the way who on some occasions take her on more daring adventures. Though it was not always this way, it was a brave new world for the wide eyed xaela who was quite literally fresh off the boat. Luckily for her the people of Eorzea are a friendly bunch, with appropriate guilds setup who guided Yura upon the right path.Though back in her homeland Yura used a bow for hunting she was not exactly what one would call 'adept' with it, and so full glad was she to discover she had a knack for manipulating aether into spells. With this discovery she studied for some time in Ul'dahs Thaumatuges guild to eventually graduate as a Black Mage through a great deal of studying and hard work. It was here that her adventuring career truly began!Though as a Black Mage Yura commands a great deal of power, she is not the traditional adventurer who travels around looking for the next problem needing put down. She is rather the type who adores traveling, exploring, and meeting new people! Though this lifestyle does often land her into a scrap or two, especially when hanging around other adventurers!
